Day Eighty Eight

Putting this on pause for a hot minute. Still taking pictures... I'll be back soon.

Until then, I read this on Jorge Garcia's blog and it cheered me up.

What I really wanted to talk about was the Oreo Cakester. Which is both wonderful and scary at the same time. Like unprotected sex. (Oh man. I'm sorry. That was totally uncalled for. USE A CONDOM!!!!! I SWEAR!!!! YOU WILL DIE!!!!!)

Day Eighty Seven

Two out of two sleeping percussionists agree, orchestral parts are usually pretty dull.

Day Eighty Six

Yay J.B. Smith was here tonight! I'd take a picture of my program but I already lost it. Concert was pretty interesting, listening to him, King, and the clarinet player (bob springs?) was more entertaining though. That is, they are hilarious, not their performance was lame.

I don't even think that made sense. God this week sucks and I'm exhausted.

Day Eighty Five

My damn car. I just got it back and it's acting up again. This is Brittany holding up David's hood as I got a jump. Tonight was an insane celebration of lonely hearts, I suppose. What started as some ladies without their men watching movies and eating discount candy turned into an absolute debacle. I mean, we had a pinata. What's funny is I felt ridiculous getting a pinata for valentine's day until I realized the reason it was in the seasonal aisle was because they make valentine's day pinatas. The house is still a mess. If this wasn't the most insane busy no time for anything week, I'd have cleaned it by now.

Day Eighty Four

I think my favorite thing about this is that when I right clicked to save it, the file was called "ohgodnoplease". This is my new favorite and most relatable secret I've seen on postsecret.

Day Eighty Three

Look how big he is!!!! haha, he's so gangly with his long legs and his puppy face. Wengert's home for the weekend. I wish I was up there. Something's wrong with my car again so I missed rehearsal last night and today. After I used all my black ink to print updated parts that the kids now don't have. Ugh.

Today is Valentine's day. Each Valentine's day since I've met Wengert has gotten better and better. That's not as sweet as it sounds. The high point of the three years has been this Valentine's day, and I'm not even going to see him. But lets compare it to last year when he was half blind in the hospital and the year before when... er... yeah. So, we're both happy and healthy and thankful for each other. I'd say that's pretty damn good.

I think hating valentine's day is a little dull. And easy. I think it's kind of fun, but ultimately I'm indifferent. It's just a day, lol, who cares? I finally picked out a rag. However I've only got two weeks to learn it. This semester has been so freaking busy. I just completely forgot about midterms. Oops.

Day Seventy Nine

Whoops. I missed a lot of days. The internet connection is still, after a month, shotty and unreliable, so I don't always have a chance to update at the end of the day. I'm working on it though. This past weekend was the preview show at Johnstown. Because of this, and because Piffle was at his grandfather's funeral, I wasn't able to go home for Mr. Grider's funeral. I didn't want to screw piffle over (the two of us are the entire staff for that drumline so if I didn't go I'd be screwing piffle), but I've been feeling guilty and sad every day since. Lose lose. Speaking of, the steelers won the superbowl. Tonight I got a sympathetic call from my Dad, feeling bad that I'm in the middle of this band wagon hype.

Anyway, I'm updating from the dress rehearsal for Intensity, which is tomorrow night. This picture is my view from the right side of Gorrell. I don't know the title of the piece that's rehearsing, only that it's written by Levitan, and referred to as "the levitan." Sound familiar? He also wrote the marimba quartet we played at heinz hall.
